So beautiful! We went in the end of October and the weather and view was amazing! BUT in my opinion it is so expensive! 43 Eur just for the cable car and additional 9 Eur for attractions (Skywalk, glacier, bridge)
Lovely view over the Dachstein. Be prepared for the chilly wind. Raincoat and layers are recommended.
It is worth to see the the Ice Palace and walking on the glacier.
If you are a sportsman and really like challenges try to climb the Super ferrata.
Dachstein Mountain. Went up on Christmas Day. Was the first few up there. Had the whole place to ourselves. Awesome!!
The panorama skywalk around the cable station is exquisite. Don't waste money paying extra for the bridge and the "steps into nothing". This free view is all you need.
Breathtaking place which you MUST visit. You have restaurant, souvenir shop and toilet up there. Use the website ( it also has english ) to see more info . 2 very important tips : Make reservation for the cablecar early on because it is very busy and you will have time problems . You need about 2 hours to visit and take photos . Tip no2 would be to keep the cablecar tickets for the car barrier at the bottom of the mountain, otherwise you need to pay a fee. Enjoy!❤
The Dachstein Skywalk is a breathtaking masterpiece that stands at the intersection of innovation and nature's splendor. Perched atop the Dachstein Glacier in Austria, this architectural marvel invites you to experience the world from a vantage point that feels almost otherworldly.
As you step onto the Skywalk, a sense of exhilaration courses through you. The glass platform stretches out beneath your feet, revealing the expansive panorama of the glacier and the surrounding peaks. It's as if you're suspended in mid-air, a part of a surreal landscape that defies imagination.
The views from the Skywalk are nothing short of awe-inspiring. The rugged peaks, the sweeping valleys, and the expanse of white that is the glacier create a tableau that captures the majesty of the Alps. Every direction you turn, you're greeted by a sight that leaves you breathless, a reminder of the grandeur of nature.
Walking on the transparent platform is an experience that evokes a blend of exhilaration and serenity. The sensation of being surrounded by pristine nature while standing above the world is truly unique. As you soak in the sights, you're also reminded of the incredible engineering feat that makes this experience possible.
The Dachstein Skywalk is more than just a viewpoint; it's an opportunity to connect with nature in a way that's both thrilling and introspective. It's a place that sparks conversation, reflection, and an appreciation for the beauty that lies beyond our everyday surroundings.
Whether you're a nature lover, an adventurer at heart, or simply someone seeking an unforgettable experience, the Dachstein Skywalk promises to leave an indelible mark on your memory. It's a journey to new heights, a chance to stand on the precipice of wonder, and a testament to the beauty and innovation that can be found when human creativity and the natural world converge."
Nice excursion for a hiking day. The gondola has to be reserved at least 1-2 days in advance. There are several hiking tours from the top station.
Leaving at the parking with sun, return with snow. Although we couldn’t have a view of the surrounding, because it was snowing on top, it was worth it.
